Etymology
Probably from Proto-Edekiri *á-ɣéré, with a systematic shift from /*ɣ/ in Proto-Yoruboid to /ɣ/ in Northeast and Southeast Yoruba dialects, and then /w/ to Central Yoruba and Northwest Yoruba dialects, with Central Yoruba dialects deleting /w/ and /w/ becoming /h/ in Northwest and Standard Yoruba. Cognate with Olukumi aghéré.

We are not certain about these, for one of two reasons.
Wiktionary says some of them were built from a word spelled like this one, without saying which meaning, so we show each under every meaning it could have come from.
The rest are spelled a little differently from anything here — a tone mark or an underdot apart — so we cannot tell a misspelling of this word from a word that has no page yet.
Both are fixable on Wiktionary, one word at a time. How to help.
